The news cycle does not stop, even in times of self-isolation. For podcasters and audio journalists without a soundproofed room in their homes, they will be thinking about how to record decent audio.
Rather than recording in your kitchen, why not take a DIY approach and create your own portable mini vocal booth? This tutorial by Instructables shows you how to make one using just some basic household items and equipment. Using this, you will capture much cleaner audio.
"Once you have the perfect recording you can treat the audio with any reverb, effect processor or VST you come up with. It's better to add things later than not being able to remove things later," it reads.
Putting a jacket/duvet/pillow case over your head can help minimise echoes but nothing beats proper sound proofing - but that can be expensive.
